W. Melvin Haas
III, Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC
Mel was formerly with the National Labor Relations Board. He heads
up the Macon office of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC and focuses
his practice on labor relations, union avoidance consulting, campaigns,
and NLRB litigation. Mel serves as a chapter editor for Developing
Labor Law and regularly speaks at ABA, SHRM, and association meetings.
Mel counsels clients with regard to employment law matters and handles
complex litigation. He is also chair of the Employment Law Committee
of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association.
Keiko A. Humphries, K.A. Humphries Consulting, Inc.
Keiko has over 15 years Human Resource experience in private industry
and consulting environments. She has experience in line and staff
HR leadership positions; in both field and corporate environments.
Her focus has been helping organizations develop and operate HR departments
that are integrated with the company’s business objectives.
As an HR Professional, Ms. Humphries has worn many hats: Internal
Consultant, HR Generalist, Compensation & Benefits Expert, Employee
Relations Strategist, Recruiting Specialist, Trainer, and Speaker.
Rodney Page, The Focus Group
Rodney began his career with BellSouth (then Southern Bell) and progressed
in the sales organization holding various sales management positions.
He later moved to the corporate training organization managing all
sales and product training for the 9-state region. Rodney developed
a business plan that led to the creation of BellSouth Educational
services which developed customized training for the telecommunications
industry. He was President of this subsidiary. He has held executive
level positions with various firms and worked as a consultant. in
two broad areas: 1)sales/marketing/customer care in the telecommunications
industry; 2) strategic planning , organizational development, sales/marketing,
etc… He is co-founder of The Focus Group.
Clif Pritchett, Georgia Employers’ Association
Prior to joining GEA, Clif was a regional Human Resources Director
for Pillowtex Corporation, the parent company of Fieldcrest Cannon.
Affiliated with the company since 1990, he was involved in all phases
of Human Resources including a collective bargaining workforce, labor
disputes, EEOC and FMLA training. Clif has thirty years of experience
in Human Resources activities including investigations, compliance
issues, policy and procedure development and HR audits. Clif is a
civil and labor management mediator. He is also certified state instructor.
Pete Tosh, The Focus Group
Prior to co-founding The Focus Group, Pete was the President and Founder
of The Tosh Management Consultants, a consulting firm offering Organizational
Development, Customer Loyalty Enhancement, and Human Resource Management
services.
Pete’s areas of specialization include the design and implementation
of: Organizational Development Processes; Customer Satisfaction Measurement,
Customer Loyalty Enhancement and Recovery Initiatives; and Performance
Management and other Human Resource Processes — all maximizing
the achievement of corporate strategies via employee behavior. Pete
has worked closely with the senior management of organizations such
as Exxon, Brink’s, EMC, State Farm Insurance, Marriott, Cracker
Barrel, Freddie Mac, and YKK.
