Executive Search/Recruiting
Services: For some time the GEA
newsletter – at no fee – has listed member company position
vacancies. As a result, some positions have been filled and the GEA
will continue this service.
However, there have been many situations where
vacancies go unfilled for months resulting in significant lost opportunity
costs and time consuming, expensive recruiting efforts on the part
of these companies.
Therefore, as a result of member feedback and
need, effective immediately the GEA is partnering with The Focus Group
to offer – at a discounted fee for member companies –
an Executive Search/Recruiting Service. The Focus Group has 35 years
of executive search and recruiting experience. This service will assist
member companies in filling executive, managerial, supervisory, and
technical professional positions such as engineers, accountants, etc.
The process has two [2] essential components
– with several initiatives within each – but will be tailored
to each company’s needs and the nature of the open position.
• Defining the Required Position Competencies
and Developing the Position Specifications:
o Reviewing relevant company literature
o Interviewing the hiring manager and others who have an understanding
of the required competencies in order to complete a job analysis questionnaire
o Developing and/or modifying a job description and position specification
document
o Conducting a pre-search conference to verify the position requirements
and other relevant information such as salary, benefits, relocation
policy, recruitment timeline, etc.
• Executing Several Sourcing Initiatives
to Locate Qualified Candidates, Present Candidates to the Client Company,
and Assist in Placing a Qualified Candidate within the Company:
o Developing a search plan to include the research steps to be used
and identification of target sources
o Identifying and evaluating qualified candidates via research, networking,
telephone screening, and conducting in-depth interviews
o Conducting reference checks
o Presenting qualified candidates with individual search reports to
the client organization
o Scheduling interviews within the client company
o Assisting in the negotiation and closing the offer
o Maintaining post-hire contact with the client company regarding
the new employee’s performance
Please contact the GEA to discuss this new service
and determine how a tailored contingency or exclusive search can satisfy
your specific recruiting needs.
Unlimited Telephone Access:
Experienced HR professionals are available to answer questions and
help GEA member companies, solve their real-life workplace problems.
GEA’s goal is to take a pro-active approach to help save you
money and time by avoiding those perplexing and costly compliance
issues. If legal advice is needed, an attorney who specializes in
your specific area of concern, is only a phone call away, typically
at no additional charge to you! Regulatory compliance, harassment,
policy matters, discharges, pay, benefits, etc… are just some
of the issues we deal with on a daily basis.
HR Compliance Reviews: With the increasing unemployment
level and layoffs by Georgia employers and the entire United States
over the past few years, a startling trend has developed on the employment
law frontier. Disgruntled employees are filing an ever-increasing
number of claims and having greater success being awarded staggering
damages. If you are considering some cost cutting initiatives a Human
Resources Compliance Review can be an important first step.
Such reviews can be extremely helpful in setting strategy, achieving
goals and providing solid benchmark data to your company. These Reviews
can also uncover areas that are ripe for improvement and provide opportunities
for your organization to find problems before they become major liabilities.
Your Review will also include a legal review of any reported recommendations
by experienced labor and employment attorneys.
Employee Attitude Surveys:
Determine how your employees really feel about their supervisors,
managers and the company. Attitude surveys ensure confidential honest
answers to help you understand and improve employees’ efficiency
and productivity. GEA works with you to develop questions; GEA administers
the questions to your employees and tabulates the results. You are
provided with unlimited insight and understanding of your employees
thoughts and perceptions. GEA also works with you to develop solutions
to problems uncovered in the survey and provides advice and training
as needed.
Employee Assessments: We can
help you make better hiring decisions by using valid methods to prescreen
job applicants and increasing the likelihood of a successful fit between
employer and employee. Also, we can provide individual assessments
to help your managers and employees understand their individual personalities
and how to maximize teamwork by working with various other identified
personality styles.
Business Training Library:
Small and mid-sized companies can now offer their employees the same
high-quality learning resources used by large Fortune 1000 firms at
a fraction of the price by borrowing and exchanging video and CD-ROM’s
as needed. A “free” one-month membership is offered with
discounts to GEA Members.
