Good speakers, important topics, and a lot of valuable information were available for attendees of the 2017 GEA Fall Conference. This year’s event attracted a large audience to hear a legal review of issues affecting Georgia businesses.Attorneys from Constangy, Brooks, Smith, & Prophete covered the gamut of legal complexities and regulatory issues. Constangy Executive Committee Chairman Neil Wasser addressed upcoming changes in OSHA regulation and enforcement, and attorney Jonathan Martin emphasized that front-line supervision remains one of the most important factors in a productive workplace.
Other key topics included a presentation by Leonard Bevill, CEO of Macon Occupational Medicine on effective workplace drug screening programs and a very relevant talk from Greg Norred of Norred and Associates about actions to take in the event of an active shooter in the workplace.
“It was an educational and business-focused event in an idyllic setting,” stated GEA Executive Director Mike McCurdy. “We had beautiful weather for golf on Wednesday and everyone enjoyed the Ritz Carlton for the Thursday conference.”
GEA will be publishing a schedule of events for 2018 within the coming weeks. Keep an eye on our newsletter and the Upcoming Workshop and Events page on this website for announcements of upcoming events and training that will benefit your organization.
