Our New Website

If you’ve arrived at this page, you’ve probably already noticed a good many changes to the Georgia Employers’ Association website.  Over the last month, we’ve upgraded georgiaemployers.org with the intent of creating a better information source for our members and a place where prospective member companies can easily find information about the value that GEA provides.  We certainly hope that you’ll enjoy using the new website and encourage you to provide suggestions for continuing improvements.

geaonlineOne of the new features is this weblog.  We’ll be using the blog in conjunction with our weekly newsletter to keep you posted on current information.  Stories will be posted regularly by GEA staff and consultants and topics will include management trends, leadership, HR issues, State and Federal legal and regulatory developments, and other areas of interest to Georgia Employers. We hope to also include guest blogs from our members.  If you have an interesting case study or story that would benefit other association members, please let us know.

We hope you’ll take the time to explore the website.  We’ve made it easier for GEA members to post jobs to our GEA Job Board. Now, new availabilities can be posted directly from the website. They’ll be reviewed by our staff and will show up on the site within a few hours. You can continue to login to HR Answers Now from the website. We’ve added a Calendar that includes workshops, training, and webinars planned for the coming months. We’ll also include summaries of Upcoming Workshops and Events scheduled for the next 30 – 60 days, with links to registration pages.

More Ways to Communicate

The improved website is the first step in a broader communications plan that GEA will be putting into place over the next few months.  Along with the focus on more detailed website content, we’re planning to expand our presence on LinkedIn.  While many may still relate social networking to photos of dogs and children, LinkedIn has become a serious and valuable business resource.  LinkedIn Groups provide an easily accessible forum for sharing information between individuals with similar interests and occupations. Plans are in the works to start one (or more) groups for GEA members and other Georgia employers.  Look for more information over the next few weeks.

GEA provides a wealth of valuable resources to our member companies, and we intend to use our new web presence to enhance these offerings. We certainly hope that you’ll share our new website among your contacts and within your organization. Leave us a comment below and let us know what you think!
